THE VIETNAM A350 WITH SAFRAN CIRRUS III SEATS

My domestic VN flight today from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City is operated by an A350-900. The last VN A350 I took from Narita was equipped with Stelia Solstys seats in a staggered layout, but this one has Safran Cirrus III seats, made by the French manufacturer Safran, in a reverse herringbone layout. I have booked 1K, a front-row seat that feels the most private in the cabin, and am glad to experience both versions of the seat on one trip. It is wonderful that VN flies modern wide-bodies such as the A350 and 787 for many flights on its primary domestic route between HAN and SGN, while serving a hot meal on a two-hour flight. The overall experience of the flight surpasses that of Japanese airlines on key two-hour domestic routes such as Haneda–Fukuoka, and it reflects the current momentum of Vietnam.

今日搭乗するハノイ発ホーチミンシティ行きベトナム航空ドメフライトはA350-900で運航される。成田から乗った一本前のVNのA350はステリア・ソルスティスシートを積んだスタガードレイアウトだったが、こちらのシートはフランスのメーカー、サフランによるサフラン・サイラス III でレイアウトはリバースヘリンボーン。その中で一番プライベートな感じがする最前列の1Kをとっておいた。一回の旅で両方のシートを体験できるのは嬉しい。最近のベトナム航空は、ハノイとホーチミンシティをつなぐ最重要国内路線の多くのフライトでA350や787といった新世代ワイドボディをばんばん飛ばしている。しかも2時間ほどのフライト中にしっかりホットミールを出してくる。全体的には、日本のエアラインによる羽田ー福岡といった2時間クラスの国内幹線よりも上質な体験ができるようになった。まさにこれが今のベトナムの勢い。

I arrived at Tan Son Nhat International and found myself in the brand-new, shiny domestic Terminal 3, which opened in April 2025. It is another testament to Vietnam’s evolution. Vietnam A350-900 HAN-SGN. The 850th flight in my lifetime.

タンソンニャットに到着したら、そこは2025年4月に供用開始されたばかりの新国内線ターミナルT3だった。このピカピカのターミナルもまた、今のベトナムが持つ勢いの象徴。ベトナム A350-900 HAN-SGN。生涯850フライト目。
