PALÉ HALL HOTEL: THE BRYNTIRION INN

On top of the main dining room and the bar, the Palé Hall estate has one more fabulous dining option as an unexpected bonus. It is a British-automobile-themed, 300-year-old roadside pub named The Bryntirion Inn, located right next to the hotel’s north gate, just outside the property. Now as a gastropub run by Palé Hall, it serves modern British cuisine that is as sophisticated and tasty as the meals you can enjoy at the tables in the main hotel, but in a more casual and relaxed setting. As its name suggests, you can also book a room to stay here.

うれしいことに、メインダイニングルームとバーに加えて、パレホールエステートにはもう一つ食事をとれる場所が用意されていた。思いがけないボーナスのようなその場所は、ザ・ブリンティリオン・インという300年の歴史を持つロードサイドパブで、ホテルの北側ゲートのすぐ外にある。今はパレホールによるガストロパブになっていて、ホテルの本館が出すものに負けない洗練された美味いモダンブリティッシュ料理を、もっとカジュアルでリラックスした雰囲気の中で楽しめる。店内の装飾は英国のモーターカルチャーがテーマ。名前でわかるように、ここに泊まることもできる。

One thing you have to know is that, even though The Bryntirion Inn is part of Palé Hall hotel, you cannot charge the bill to your room. The first time I dined there, I didn’t know that, so I had to make a round-trip walk to my suite along this path to get my credit card—a total of two round-trip walks in one evening. It was a nice after-dinner walk, though.

とはいえ一つだけ注意が必要。ザ・ブリンティリオン・インはパレホールの一部ではあるのだが、支払いを部屋づけにすることはできない。最初に訪れたときはそれを知らなかったので、クレジットカードを取りにいくために自分のスイートまでこの道を歩いて往復することになった。店へ行くときと店から帰るときも歩いたので1回のディナーで合計2往復。食後の散歩としてちょうど良かったが。
