MY PILGRIMAGE: THE MUSEUM OF FLIGHT / CITY OF EVERETT

While the Concorde is a European star, this one is a local star. The N7470—the first Boeing 747 ever built—was named after her birthplace. Thanks to the 747-8, the foundation of the 747’s design, created before I was born, will continue to fly for many decades to come. Note the hand-painted “Experimental” sign next to the L5 door.
