TSUBASA WO KUDASAI HAS TAKEN OFF

Finally, the first printing of Maha Harada’s novel Tsubasa wo Kudasai—Freedom in the Sky has arrived from the printer.

原田マハさんの小説「翼をください~Freedom in the sky」の初版が、ついに印刷所から到着した。

I served as Creative Director for this hardcover edition and also wrote the promotional copy for the blue cover belt. The headline—“Get out of your zone. Fly”—captures the mindset and spirit of the aviators featured in the story, who challenged the sky when it was still a wild frontier. It’s also a message to today’s Japanese, who too often hesitate to step beyond their comfort zones.

僕はこの単行本のクリエイティブディレクターとして、青い帯の上のキャッチコピーも書かせてもらった。「閉じこもるな。飛べ。」というヘッドラインは、空がまだ未開のフロンティアだった時代の飛行士たちが持っていたマインドセットやアティテュードを語っている。同時にそれは、安全地帯から出ることを避けがちな最近の日本人へのメッセージにもなっている。
