INTERFLUG

The latest addition to my aviation library is a tin reproduction of an advertisement for Interflug, the national airline of the former German Democratic Republic, which I found in an ordinary bookstore. Interflug was liquidated in 1991, alongside the collapse of the GDR government, and never made it to the year 2000. Its base, Berlin-Schönefeld Airport, shown below, is now being transformed into Berlin-Brandenburg International Airport, scheduled to open in 2011 as Berlin’s new gateway to the sky.

僕の航空ライブラリーに最近追加されたもの。フツウの本屋で見つけたドイツ民主共和国（東ドイツ）のナショナルフラッグキャリア、インターフルクのブリキのリプロダクション・アド。インターフルクは東ドイツ政府の崩壊と共に1991年に清算され、2000年を祝うことができなかった。下のほうに見える彼らの本拠地ベルリン・シェーネフェルト空港は、現在新しいベルリンの空の玄関口、ベルリン・ブランデンブルク空港へと改造中。2011年に完成が予定されている。
