It is said that this castellated palace has serious defensive features for a country house belonging to a nobleman. Even now, after the castle was turned into a Relais & Châteaux hotel, I can feel tightly protected by the thick stone walls when I’m relaxing in the lounge or having a glass of iced tea in the library.
