My bedchamber is named after Mary, Queen of Scots—Queen of Scotland and Queen consort of France during the Tudor period. So every time I needed something from a hotel staff member I had not met before, I would say, “I’m in the Mary, Queen of Scots,” rather than telling them a room number. Thanks to the castle’s stone construction, the chamber was as acoustically dead as a recording studio, making it perfect for my work video calls.
