SOUTH TO SOUTH ON THE SOUTHERN PART2

The Southern continues south. The sea has come into view. Across the water should be Awaji Island.

サザンは南下を続ける。海が見えてきた。対岸は淡路島だろう。

Arrived in Wakayama. One of my ancestors in the Edo period was a pottery merchant in Wakayama who later moved to Nihonbashi in Edo—old Tokyo. And I am visiting their city of origin for the first time in my life.

和歌山に到着。江戸時代の僕の祖先は、和歌山から江戸の日本橋に移ってきた瀬戸物商人だった。今日生まれて初めて、自分のルーツがある街を訪れる。
