METRO LINES WITH A CHARACTER

Each of Lisbon’s four Metro lines has a charming secondary name alongside its color-coded one—Blue is the Seagull Line, Yellow is the Sunflower Line, Green is the Caravel Line, and Red is the Orient Line—each represented by its own icon on station signs. Among them, the Seagull Line served as my convenient shuttle between the hotel I’m staying at and the Baixa/Alfama area.

4つあるリスボンメトロの路線には、カラーによる路線名のほかにそれぞれチャーミングなサブネームがつけてある。ブルーラインはカモメ線、イエローラインはひまわり線、グリーンラインはカラベル船線、レッドラインは東方線といった具合。駅名標にはサブネームがアイコンで描かれている。今回の滞在では、その中のカモメ線がホテルからバイシャ／アルファマ地区へ出かける際のシャトル便としてとても便利だった。
