Two East 55th Street. Right on Fifth Avenue. That’s my Manhattan address this time. Opened in 1904 by John Jacob Astor IV—an ultra-wealthy real estate and hotel developer who perished in the Titanic disaster. This is the St. Regis of all St. Regises.
