MALMESBURY, WILTSHIRE

I happened to be in Malmesbury, possibly the oldest borough of England, located on the southern edge of the Cotswolds. This charming town has a landmark abbey whose history traces back to the seventh century—older than the city of Kyoto.

ここはコッツウォルズの南のエッジ部分。たまたま、イングランドで最も古いバラ（行政区画としての「町」）であると言われているマームズベリーにやってきた。このチャーミングな街のランドマークは、7世紀からの歴史を持つ、京都よりも古い修道院。
