LAKESIDE AND HAVERTHWAITE RAILWAY: HAVERTHWAITE STATION AND RETURN

Arrived at the Haverthwaite terminus. Here, they bring the engine to the other end of the train to go back to Lakeside. Changing the position of a steam locomotive is a piece of entertainment. A water tower, tunnels, a semaphore signal, and the resting engine and carriages—everything becomes wonderful stage props.

終着駅のヘイヴァースウェイトに到着。ここで機関車を反対側につけ替えてレイクサイドへ戻る。蒸気機関車の方向転換はちょっとしたエンターテイメントのよう。給水塔、トンネル、腕木信号機、置かれているほかの機関車や客車。すべてが素晴らしい舞台装置になっている。

On my way back to Lakeside. The views from the window made me realise why people wanted to preserve this railway route.
