FOSTER IN THE HOLY CITY

Arrived in Medina — or Madinah. This station building, with its impressive tent-like structures and countless rhombic light openings, was also designed by Foster + Partners, in collaboration with the British engineering consultancy Buro Happold. I began to feel slightly nervous, making sure not to disturb the pilgrims.

Madinahとも書かれることがあるMedinaに到着。壮麗なテント状の構造と数えきれないほど開けられた菱形状の明かり取りの孔が印象的なこの駅舎も、フォスター・アンド・パートナーズがイギリスのエンジニアリングコンサルティング企業ビューロ・ハッポルドと一緒にデザインした。この街では巡礼者の皆さんの邪魔をしないように振る舞わなければならない。少し緊張してきた。
