ELLENBOROUGH PARK: THE MAIN BUILDING

It is said that the origin of this house dates back to the 15th century. In the 19th century, it belonged to the 1st Earl of Ellenborough, who served as Governor-General of India—and it’s obvious where the hotel took its name from. After WWII, the property turned into a girls’ high school with boarding.

このハウスの原点は15世紀までさかのぼる。19世紀になると、インド総督を務めた初代エレンバラ伯爵が所有した。ホテルの名前はそれにちなんでいるのだろう。第二次大戦後は寄宿舎つきの女子高校として使われていたらしい。
