ATELIER MATCHA HO CHI MINH CITY

I checked out the new Ho Chi Minh City store of Atelier Matcha, which recently opened in the heart of the city’s commercial district. Atelier Matcha is a matcha-focused cafe run by Tzen, whose owner is my ex-colleague at Dentsu, Nagao-san. In Japan, they have shops in Tokyo and Kamakura, and this is their first international location. I met Nagao-san inside the cafe, and she said her chain has also landed in Cebu, the Philippines, after Vietnam. They are riding the matcha wave. Amazing.

ホーチミンシティの商業エリアの真ん中に最近できた「Atelier Matcha」の新店舗に行ってみた。抹茶が主役のカフェ「Atelier Matcha」は、僕の電通時代の先輩である長尾さんが作ったTzenという会社が運営している。日本では東京と鎌倉に店舗があり、海外ではここが一号店。店の中で長尾さんに会うことができたが、ベトナムに続いてフィリピンのセブにも進出したと言っていた。抹茶の波に乗っている。凄い。
