ISHINOMAKI COMMUNITY AND INFORMATION CENTER

The building next to Hashidoori Common, which I named, is recently opened Ishinomaki Community and Info Center. They made its English name way simpler, but the literal translation of the name of this facility is "Ishinomaki City Information and Interaction Center for Reconstruction and Development". Here you can learn about the history of Ishinomaki City, the damage to the city caused by the East Japan Earthquake and Tsunami in 2011, and city's reconstruction effort.

僕が名前をつけた「橋通りCOMMON」の隣にある建物は、最近オープンしたばかりの石巻市復興まちづくり情報交流館。英語の名前はかなりシンプルなものにされているが、直訳すると「Ishinomaki City Information and Interaction Center for Reconstruction and Development」となる。ここでは石巻の街の歴史、2011年の東日本大震災による被害の様子、そしてそこからの復興の取り組みについて知ることができる。
