I'm now at the heart of the Japanese jetliner manufacturing.

日本のジェット旅客機製造の核心部分にやってきた。

Boeing has the Red Barn, and Mitsubishi has the Clock Tower. Mitsubishi Aircraft Corporation is based in this historic Clock Tower Building in Ooe, Nagoya. Warbirds such as the A6M Zero were once designed here.

ボーイングに「赤い納屋」があるなら三菱には「時計台」がある。三菱航空機株式会社は名古屋の大江にある、この歴史的な時計台ビルを本拠地にしている。零戦など戦中の航空機も、この建物の中で設計された。

Deep inside the Clock Tower Building, you find this. It’s not the head of a Shinkansen train—it’s a mock-up of the MRJ, Japan’s first commercial airliner since the YS-11 of the 1960s. Mitsubishi Aircraft Corporation’s PR department authorized the publication of these photos.

そしてその時計台ビルの奥深くに置かれているのが、これ。新幹線の先頭部分ではない。1960年代のYS-11以来初の日本製旅客機、MRJのモックアップ。写真は三菱航空機広報ご担当者の承認を得て掲載。
