BLUE IMPULSE OVER ISHINOMAKI

Every summer the Ishinomaki Stand Up Week climaxes with the Kawabiraki Festival—Ishinomaki's traditional summer festival. Today, to celebrate the festival, Kawasaki T-4s of the Blue Impulse, the aerobatic demonstration team of the JASDF whose base is at Ishinomaki's neighboring city Higashimatsushima, showed their striking performance over Ishinomaki City. The six aircraft formation in blue summer sky was pretty gorgeous. And I personally love the combination of the historic Kankeimaru Building and the Japanese-built jet trainer.

石巻Stand Up Weekは毎夏、石巻の伝統的な夏祭りである川開き祭りでクライマックスを迎える。今日はその川開き祭りを祝い、航空自衛隊のアクロバット飛行チーム「ブルーインパルス」の川崎T-4が、石巻市上空で目を奪うパフォーマンスを行った。ブルーインパルスの本拠地は、石巻の隣町である東松島。青い夏空の中の6機フォーメーションは実にゴージャスで、個人的には歴史ある観慶丸ビルと国産ジェット訓練機の組み合わせがたまらなかった。
