MIYAZAKI PREFECTURAL GOVERNMENT BUILDING

Built in 1932, it reminds me of public buildings in Manchuria, constructed around the same time and still standing in Changchun and Dalian, China. It has the grace and dignity that Japan lost long ago.

1932年完成。同時代に建てられ、いまだに長春や大連にある旧・満州国の公共建築を思い出させる。日本が遥か昔に失った気品と威厳。

The prefectural governor’s room is peaceful and quiet now that the famous ex-comedian former governor is no longer here.

県知事室。静かで落ち着いている。有名な元コメディアンの前知事がいなくなったので。

Another treasure of Miyazaki. Once a bank, it now serves as an annex of the prefectural government. Built in 1926, it’s from the same generation as a beautiful bank in Fukui.

また別の宮崎の宝。元銀行で、今は県庁の別館。1926年完成。ということは、福井のこの美しい銀行と同世代。
