ANA operates the 747 on its Haneda–Komatsu route one round trip a day. I was lucky enough to get seat 1A on one of those flights. The solo seats in the first row are the best in the cabin of this four-engine jet—all you have in front of you is the sky. Even the cockpit crew on the upper deck sit behind you. The sound of the F-15Js taking off from the same runway made my morning departure even more exciting. ANA B747-400 KMQ-HND. The 481st flight in my lifetime.

ANAは一日一往復だけ羽田―小松線に747を飛ばしている。幸運にもその便の1Aを確保できた。自分より前には空しかない1列目のソロシートは、この4発機のキャビンで最高の席。2階のコクピットクルーでさえ自分の背後に座っていることになる。そのうえ同じランウェイから飛び立つF-15Jのジェットサウンドが、僕が乗るモーニングフライトの出発をよりエキサイティングなものにしてくれた。ANA B747-400 KMQ-HND。生涯481フライト目。
