THE WESTIN OSAKA (2)

Tallinn, Warsaw, Casablanca, Minneapolis, Moscow, Bangkok, Los Angeles, Kathmandu, Shanghai, Odessa, Barcelona… I’ve had massages in many cities around the world. And this hotel has one of my two best massage therapists. She’s a typical Osaka obachan (middle-aged lady)—Ms. T. (The other is an old master in Taipei.) Ms. T. is more than just a massage therapist to me; she’s almost like my mother in Osaka. They say some guests, including celebrities, choose this hotel because of her. (So the general manager should thank her.) Even though the St. Regis, a more upscale Starwood hotel, will open in this city next year, I’ll still have a reason to stay here—as long as she’s here.

タリン。ワルシャワ。カサブランカ。ミネアポリス。モスクワ。バンコク。ロスアンジェルス。カトマンズ。上海。オデッサ。バルセロナ・・・。これまで世界中の都市でマッサージを受けてきたが、僕にとってのマッサージ師トップ２の一人がこのホテルにいる。その人は典型的な大阪のオバチャン、Ｔさん。（もう一人は台北にいるおじいちゃん先生）僕にとってＴさんはもはや単なるマッサージ係ではない。僕の大阪の母ともいえる人。彼女がいるからここに泊まる、という客も有名人を含めて何人かいるそうだ。（ホテルのジェネラルマネジャーは彼女に感謝しなくてはいけない）たとえ来年この街に、より上級なスターウッド系ホテルであるセントレジスがオープンしても、Ｔさんがいる限り、ここに泊まる理由がある。
